A Note from Newburyport, MA

Just wanted to tell you that a lovely circle of people celebrated with you and sang: "peace, peace, peace, peace upon the earth; peace,, peace, peace throughout the universe", accompanied by a small harp (played by Deirdre Drennen) as part of a celebration of circle dancing led by Ellen Kennedy at the Belleville Church in Newburyport.

Thank you for this lovely tradition,

blessings,

Lyra

Rebekah Will Sing All Over Massachusetts

I will be driving between central Massachusetts and Lowell, Massachusetts.  I will sing and chant for peace at numerous times throughout the day, including:
1. in the car on Routea 2 and 495 between my home and Lowell
2. in Lowell, on the bridge by the Wannalancit Building (feel free to join me if you're in the area)
3. in and around my home with my daughter and other loved ones
4. in the woods near my house

Why am I telling you this?  So you'll know JUST HOW EASY it is to participate in Solstice Sing for Peace, and to sing or chant in solidarity with others throughout the world.

Some people (like my family) have asked me why I don't move it to a weekend.  The Solstice is an astrological event. Solstice Sing for Peace was created to work in conjunction with that astrological occurrence (the position of the sun in relation to Earth).

Please register your event today and let others know where, when, how and with whom you will sing for peace on the solstice!

I look forward to singing with you, no matter who you are, where you are, what you sing or chant, and who your with!

Peace & Blessings,
Rebekah

Peace Within; Peace Without

Let's face it: being peaceful is not always easy.  I don't know about you, but I sometimes find myself highly frustrated with certain situations or with the behavior of others.  I used to wonder whether I, of all people, was suitable to lead an annual peace movement.  Perhaps, like me, you have also wondered whether you have what it takes to be part of something like this.

I certainly don't have all the answers, but here's my thought:  if I can do it, so can you!

If you're not feeling peaceful right now, try taking a moment to think about peace, or consider how nice it would be to feel peaceful. This simple action will start you in the right direction. When you start thinking about peace within, you'll probably find yourself considering how you can bring peace to others.

Here's one way:  You can spread peace in the next two weeks by doing the following:

1. share this blog post on Twitter and Facebook, or link to it on your own blog

2. commit to participating in Solstice Sing for Peace for one minute or more during the 24 hours of the Solstice.

3. Register your event at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7NP82RH

For updates, follow SSP on Twitter @SolsticeSing, and check this blog or the website: www.SolsticeSingforPeace.org

Thanks for spreading peace, in whatever way matters to you!

the greater his existence;
the more he gives to others
